Record the warrant terms
Choose Warrant in the security form. Enter the holder, quantity, strike price, issuance date, and expiration where applicable. Review the supporting agreement and attach it to the record.
A warrant is a distinct instrument. Do not use an employee option merely to make a different lifecycle menu available, because employee-option classification and plan treatment would misdescribe the record.
Review ownership and plan treatment
Warrants contribute to the app’s fully diluted count, while an unexercised warrant is not an issued share certificate. Warrants do not draw from equity-plan reserves.
The exit model accounts for warrant strike prices when calculating economic participation. A warrant’s fully diluted quantity alone is not a promise of cash proceeds at every sale value.
Review expired warrants
An expired warrant still in the counted records appears in Needs attention. Its action opens the warrant record for review. Check whether the agreement was extended or whether the record needs correction.
The app does not offer the same dedicated exercise-and-certificate workflow for warrants that it offers for employee options. Do not assume that the expiry alert automatically creates a dated cancellation or exercise chain. Preserve the agreement and transaction history when reconciling a warrant event.
Recognize unsupported warrant events
Cashless exercise, bespoke conversion ratios, and a complete dated warrant exercise or expiry ledger are outside this documented workflow. Reconcile those events separately before relying on an outstanding or historical cap table.
Export the company records before a material correction and review any affected fully diluted and exit results afterward. Use Troubleshooting and recovery if a proposed edit conflicts with existing records.
